Ausgang is built to need as little of your data as possible. There is no account, no tracking, and no advertising. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information.
If you grant location access, the app uses your location on your device to centre the map and show where you are relative to a door. Your location is not sent to our servers and is not stored. You can decline or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings; the app still works.
When you search for a place or open its card, the app asks our read API for that place's public information (name, address, entrance, accessibility, and live disruptions). These requests contain the search text or a place identifier — not your identity. We keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and request time) to operate and secure the service; we do not use them to build a profile of you.
If you submit a correction (for example, "wrong entrance"), we receive the category, an approximate location for the report, and any note you type. Please don't include personal information in notes.
If you tell us how to get in somewhere ("through the courtyard, second door on the right"), we store that text so we can check it and, if it helps, publish it on that place's card. No name is attached to it — not yours, not a profile, not a handle.
Nobody else sees what you write until a person here has read it. Until then it appears on your own card only, marked as unchecked. We screen submissions automatically for contact details, links and abuse before they are stored, and we won't publish those.
Once published, anyone can report the text or block whoever wrote it. Two reports take it out of view immediately, before a human looks again.
So we can show you your own unchecked contributions and let someone block a person who abuses the feature, the app generates a random identifier and keeps it on your device. It is not your Apple ID, your name, your email or your advertising identifier, it is not shared with anyone, and it is used for nothing else. Deleting the app removes it.
You can erase everything you have written at any time, without an account and without contacting us. Anything of yours already published is unpublished first, then deleted.
Place and entrance data is derived from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL). Disruption data comes from VBB, VIZ Berlin, and the Berlin assembly register.
Ausgang is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above.
Every published door instruction has a menu on it in the app: Report this takes it out of view once two people have flagged it, and Block whoever wrote it means you never see anything from that person again. Neither needs an account, and neither waits on us.
